What makes you remember and miss Hoi An?

I think the biggest difference when you set foot in Hoi An lies in the contrast.
Hoi An is an ancient town with people still living there. The old naturally coexists with the modern era. This is clearly evident through the architecture, the rich local culture, and ultimately, the atmosphere.
The difference is easily noticeable when comparing the architecture to other towns. But that's a specialized field, something only those in that field would be interested in. "Local Culture," on the other hand, is something anyone can freely research, learn about, and discuss.
Hoi An's local culture, in simple terms, includes:

• Folk beliefs
• Assembly halls and guilds
• History of ancient houses
• Ancient foundations
• Cuisine
• Traditional crafts
• Dialect
